Reshma was born to Indian parents exiled from Uganda during the reign of a cruel dictator. They arrived in America with nothing but hope. Her parents worked hard, and from them, Reshma learned perseverance. She was told that in America, anything was possible, but she quickly realized that not everyone had the same chances.

Years later, she saw young girls, much like herself, being left behind in the world of technology. The world was changing, and these girls needed to be part of that change. She founded Girls Who Code, a beacon of hope for those who never thought they’d belong. The girls learned, and so did Reshma. In giving them the tools to shape the future, she found her own purpose, and with each girl who coded, Reshma knew that she had brought something better into the world.
